Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is an electronic system that records the date, time, and location when you start and end a visit, confirming that services were actually provided to the person you’re caring for. Minnesota’s Department of Human Services (DHS) requires EVV for home- and community-based services, and our agency now uses EVV for all of our services (not just PCA and IHS), whether or not you live with the client. We use the Caretap EVV app, and all caregivers are required to clock in and out through the app for every visit. This helps ensure accurate timekeeping, timely pay, and compliance with DHS rules while protecting clients and caregivers by clearly documenting the services provided.
