Our story

Since our establishment in June 2006, HAAS has been dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate services across the state of Minnesota — serving families across the Twin Cities metropolitan region from our Golden Valley office.

We were founded on a simple idea: home care should reflect the people who receive it. Language, culture, and family rhythm are not extras — they’re core to whether care actually works. Two decades later, that philosophy still drives every match we make and every service we provide.

Our mission

Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, comprehensive, and authentic care — care that honors language, tradition, and the rhythms of daily life.

— What sets us apart

Cultural competency that’s practiced, not professed.

For many of the families we serve, finding a caregiver who speaks the right language or understands family customs is the difference between accepting help and going without. HAAS treats this as core operations — not a marketing line.

In practice, that means:

  • We hire across many languages and backgrounds and match caregivers to clients on language, culture, and life experience.
  • Our staff and supervisors include people with lived experience of the communities we serve.
  • We design care plans around how families actually live — cooking, prayer, family roles, holidays, dietary needs — not an idealized template.
  • When language is a barrier between us and a client, we don’t hand off to a translator app. We find the right caregiver.
